- Group Fitness Classes are Free for Health
Center Members. This inlcudes Water Fitness (Arthritis, Aqua
Spa, Aqua Power, Dep Water Power, & the Aqua Motion), and Juido.

P.U.L.S.E.
This 45 minute class includes a warm-up, aerobic conditioning, strength
training, and a complete abdominal workout. The routines are easy to
follow, and participants are encouraged to work at their own pace.
P.U.L.S.E. class is FREE to all YMCA members.
Step Aerobics
This low-impact, easy to follow, fat burning workout is sure to challenge
participants of all fitness levels. This class begins with a warm-up,
30 minutes of step aerobics, a total body strength routine, and floor work,
including a tough abdominal section.
Cardio Cross Training
This challenging total body workout consists of a warm-up, strength
training, a 30-minute cardiovascular routine, including step-aerobics and
traditional aerobics, kickboxing and a cool-down and abdominal segment.
Cross training is an excellent way to reduce the risk of injury from over
training, prevent boredom by maximizing a variety and have fun while burning
fat.
Kickbox Aerobics
An intense and fun workout for everyone.
Those with experience will take kickboxing moves and apply them to a
punching bag. Because you are hitting and kicking a weighted object,
this class will develop more stamina, strength, precision and timing.
Those with less experience can perform the exercises without the bag.
Kickbox aerobics consists of a warm up, a cool down, and finishes with core
strength training and flexibility.
Boot Camp
You will get maximum results with maximum variety in this challenging
conditioning workout. This class consists of 3 1/2 minutes of
cardiovascular training followed by 1 1/2 minutes of strength training
performed in intervals. Increase your strength, boost your metabolism
and improve your cardio fitness by enlisting in Boot Camp today!
Cardio Strength Combo
Get your aerobic and strength workout all in one class! In this
80-minute class, there will be a 40-minute cardiovascular component that may
include kickboxing, step aerobics, hi-lo aerobics or a combination of the
three. Then you will get a 40-minute full body strength training
session including a cool down stretch!
Faithful & Fit
This 1 1/2 hour class combines hi-lo aerobics, step aerobics, strength
and flexibility exercises; all choreographed to Contemporary Christian
music. The final 15 minutes of each class includes instructor led
devotion.
Surprise Mix
This 60-minute class will surprise you every time. Every Saturday you
will alternate between step aerobics, traditional aerobics, kickbox
aerobics, boot camp, or any one of the other fitness classes we offer.
This class is a great opportunity for you to finish your week with one more
workout. "Free to those registered in another class."
ZUMBA
ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music-dance themes creating
a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system! The routines featured
aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow
rhythms that one and sculpt the body. You don't have to
know how to dance to do ZUMBA! Class participation of any level can
start right away. It's a cardio-based
workout with some components of resistance/sculpting training to tone the
entire body from top to bottom and from the inside out!
Strength & Toning Classes
All Strength
Sculpt and define your body in this one-hour muscle toning class.
Participants will use free weights and resistance tubing, thera-bands, and
stability balls to improve muscle definition and increase muscle strength
and endurance. Lean muscle mass enables your body to burn more
calories and help you lose weight. All Strength participants are asked
to bring your own hand weights.
Advanced Resistance Training (Robinson Branch
Only)
Step up your strength workout! This class will use heavier weights
while using more advanced strength training techniques to work your entire
body. Advanced Resistance Training will use a combination of weights,
tubes, exercise balls, and your own body to improve strength and tone.
Participants are asked to bring your own hand weights.
Pilates Matwork
Pilates is a total body conditioning exercise method combining flexibility
and strength from both Eastern and Western cultures. The purpose of
Pilates is to develop mind and body uniformity, provide balance, flexibility
and strengths, to improve posture, and to focus on the powerhouse
(abdominals, gluteals, hips and lower back). Pilates is for Everyone!
Pilates Plus
Pilates Plus is a great way to finish off your week. This
60-minute workout incorporates Pilates Matwork Exercises along with Yoga and
other strength and flexibility exercises.
YOGA at the Y
In this introduction to Yoga, you will learn the fundamentals of Yoga
postures. Because each of us is unique, the poses will conform to your
level of fitness ability. You will be encouraged to move through the
poses at your own pace. The many benefits to practicing Yoga include
better balance, greater flexibility, improved digestion and circulation,
increased physical strength and stress reduction. Each class ends with a
relaxation and meditation. Please bring a towel, water and a positive
attitude! See you there! Yoga "sticky" mats are recommended for all
YOGA classes and are available for purchase at the YMCA.
Group Cycling - Piqua Branch Only
This non-impact program integrates music; motivation, and a terrific
cardiovascular workout. Group Cycling welcomes beginner exercisers as
well as most seasoned athletes! *First week of session-newcomers
please come to class 5 minutes prior to class time for a brief bike
orientation.
Registration Policy for Group Cycling
Due to the popularity and to accomodate all of the members of the YMCA, the cycling class will have a different policy than other fitness classes. Health Center members may register for additional classes by paying the class fee. If the class has openings after the first scheduled class, Health Center members may sign up for the class at no charge.
1500 Mile Cycling Club
Attention all cyclists! Do you keep track of all the miles that you cycle? If so, fill out our monthly log sheet and turn it in to the courtesy desk. Your miles along with everyone else's miles, will be compiled and sent out in a monthly e-mail. Members that achieve 1500 miles or more in 2008 will qualify for the 1500 Mile Club and earn an award at th eend of the year. We hope that this program encourages you to cycle more and more often! Juido - Robinson Branch Only
A nationally recognized physical training system that produces benefits such
as general tonight, increased strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular
fitness. A unique system that allows each participant to set their own
level of intensity. Become your own personal trainer. Not to be
confused with judo or other martial arts programs.
Active Older Adult Classes (55
years and older)
Active Older Adult Aerobics
This class is for men and women ages 55 years & older who are interested in
keeping healthy and fit! The 45-minute aerobics class will include a
warm-up, about 20 minutes of low impact aerobics, a cool down, and
flexibility training. This class will improve your fitness level, and
provide fun and fellowship that will brighten your whole day!
Active Older Adult Strength
This class is for men and women ages 55 years & older who are interested in
increasing their muscular strength and flexibility in order to help reduce
the loss of muscle mass, reduce the risk of injury, and strengthen ligaments
and muscles, which aids in balance.

SilverSneakers Muscle Strength and Range of Movement
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed
to increase muscle strength, range of movement, and activity for daily
living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a
ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or
standing support.
SilverSneakers® -Cardio Circuit
Combine fun and fitness to increase your
cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout.
Upper body strength work using hand-held weights, elastic tubing with
handles, a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A
chair is offered fo rsupport, head to toe stretching, and complete
relaxation in a comfortable pos
SilverSplash®
Activate your aqua exercise urge for activity. SilverSplash offers lots of
fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility, and
cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required.
Equipment will be used to develop strength, balance, and coordination.
Class will be in the shallow end of the large pool.
SilverSneakers® YogaStretch
YogaStretch will move your whole body through a complete series of seated
and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a
variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of
movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will
promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Classes
YMCA/IDEA Get Real Weight Management
The YMCA/IDEA Get Real Weight Management Program is a 10 week program
developed in collaboration with IDEA, the Health & Fitness Source, to
present a prudent approach to one of America's greatest health
challenges-help you develop healthy nutritional and physical habits.
This is a behavior change program designed specifically for those who want
to change their lifestyle. This program introduces a sensible "Real
Life" approach to weight management. Fee includes 10 week class and
participant manual.
Youth Fitness Classes
Kid Fit
The Kid Fit program has been
developed to provide youth the benefits of a regular individual exercise
program in a well supervised atmosphere. Kid Fit program members will
be given a specific exercise program to complete in the YMCA Fitness center
utilizing the Magnum Fitness Equipment, dumbbell exercises, body weight
exercises, and the cardiovascular equipment.
All Kid Fit participants and their parents must attend a
REQUIRED orientation. At this orientation, parents and program members
will receive fitness center program guidelines, sign up procedures, Kid Fit
Reward Point Info; and they will be oriented to the exercise program in the
fitness center.
Program Fee: This program is available for YMCA members
only. There is a one time fee of $30 at the time of registration for
the orientation.

1:00-5:00 pm
Hours may be extended as needed.
Jr. High Strength Training
This class is open to Junior High students (grades 7 & 8) who are interested
in learning the principles, techniques, and safety concerns with the use of
strength training equipment. Participants will have the opportunity to
build their physical capacity, learn about physical fitness, cooperation,
and the fun of physical activity. Participants will be required to
have signed parental consent before participating in this program.
