Parent/Child Aquatic Program
Ages 6 months - 3 yearsSkip
6 months to 3 years of age, with good head control. Structured parent-child class will include games and songs that aid in water acclimation, beginning swimming skills, and discovery. No disposable diapers, please. All classes are 30 minutes.Perch age 24-36 months
Pre-School Swim Program
Ages 3-5
At this level, the children begin attending classes without their parents. These levels are based on water skills. All classes are 30 minutes.Pike 3-5 years of age
Beginner level. Helps children develop safe pool behavior, adjust to the water, and develop independent movement in the water. It is designed for new swimmers, teaching basic paddle stroke and kicking skills, pool safety, and breath control.Eel 3-5 years
Advanced beginner level. Skills include front/back/side paddle strokes. Front/Back float while increasing independence.Rays 3-5 years
Skills include front/back/side alternating paddle using rhythmic breathing and an introduction to symmetrical paddle.Starfish 3-5 years:
Advance level. Skills include front/back/side alternating paddle using rhythmic breathing and front/back symmetrical strokes. Focus is on endurance.Youth Progressive Swim Program
Ages 6 and up
This program is comprised of five main components: personal growth, personal safety, stroke development, water sports and games, and water rescue. All classes are progressive classes that build skills from one level to the next. ALL CLASSES ARE 30 MINUTES.Polliwog - Ages 6 and up
For the beginner school age swimmer. Will learn water adjustment, front/back/side paddle strok with instructional flotation device.Guppy
Learn to jump into deep water, front alternating paddle stroke with rhythmic breathing 25 yards wit and without an instructional flotation device.Minnow
Learn to tread water, front paddle with rotary breathing, backstroke, sidestroke, elementary backstroke and breastroke 25 yards.Fish
Refine crawl stroke, backstroke, breastroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, 50 yards/meter introduce butterfly stroke.Flying Fish
Refine crawl stroke, breastroke, elementary backstroke, back crawl, sidestroke 100 yards/meter, butterfly 50 yards/meter and introduces lifesaving medley.Shark
Refine all strokes 100 yards/meter, introduce inverted breastroke, over arm sidestroke, trudgeon crawl and individual medley.Teen Lessons
Ages 12 and up. Designed for the teen who is interested in learning to swim. Class will focus on water adjustment, proper stroke techniques, and endurance.Adult Swim Lessons
This class is designed for beginning swimmers and those wanting to improve skills. The class focuses on water adjustment, proper stroke techniques, and endurance, as well as class participant’s requests. Classes are 45 minutes long.
Private Swim Lessons
Private swim lessons are available for those members that would like one on one instruction. Lessons are available for children age 3 years through adults. Fill out a request from at the courtesy desk to register.

10 lessons $90Miami County Marlins Swim Team
The Miami County YMCA Marlins Swim Team is a program which serves swimmers ages 6-18. The program offers instructions, training and competition at all levels of swimming. The team and swimmers work to achieve caring, honestly, respect and responsibility by working within a structured and directed program. The season will begin work in early September and runs through March/April. You must be a YMCA member to participate, per league rules.Miami County Masters Swim Club
A team AND fitness swim program for adults 19 years and older. Practices are offered several times each week and swimmers also practice on their own. Participants must be members of the United States Masters Swimming. For more information, contact Scott Boyer at 937-676-2737 or pick up an informational brochure at either branch.
